This film has a perceptive concept and will have you on the edge of your seat and waiting for what happens next, meanwhile laughing uncontrollably. This is a film that will demonstrate the thoughts of some in America right now during such a historic time.
The story of this film is that minorities have become illegal Aliens in an attempt to throw all disenfranchised groups in concentration camps, separating them from normal society as we know it. In Los Angeles, we meet a small group of runaways hiding out in an abandoned church debating how to get out the country. While the tone is overly dramatic and comical, it is through their conversations we learn about each character struggles with identity and self-acceptance. Although they butt heads in the beginning they ultimately form a bond of unity to survive.
The award-winning film writer, director and commercial producer Candice Vernon is set to premiere her newest body of work, “Make America Great?” this January 2017. Vernon is best noted for her work Apartment 309 co-starring Ice-T, featured in Elle Magazine, and many more. Vernon’s two episodic series that she wrote were semifinalist at the Sundance Episodic lab.
Candice Vernon dropped everything including her job as an Executive Producer in New York and moved to Los Angeles to use her voice as a tool to educate and entertain through media. Ever since Vernon has made this move the cards have been aligning in her favor. The trailer views for this film alone she has been offered an indie feature film to Direct and is being packaged to direct it by the end of the summer. Vernon is under the tutelage of Director Shyam Madiraju and TV writer/showrunner Eunetta T. Boone.. The past year a few notable accounts have followed Vernon such as: Pam Grier, Sundance Film Festival, Ava Duvernay’s Film Company, Difficulty People (TV Show), The Mindy Project (TV Show) and Hulu.
