In A 90s Kinda World…

Ready to Stare’s Fall Collection: In A 90s Kinda World

Alysse better known by her Instagram name, Ready To Stare, began a positive whirlwind with her “I Woke Up Like Dis” T-shirts. Purchasers of the shirt were asked to post a picture of themselves in the T along with their story. Timelines were flooded with uplifting stories of courage, encouragement and self love. The T’s caught such a buzz that another line decided to make an exact replica of the T’s. Like an unbothered Diva Ms. Ready To Stare didn’t flinch or stir up “Fashion Beef” she knew exactly what she had up her sleeve or better yet her signature sleeveless belly shirt.

Introducing…

I’ll let the sneak peak of the cover of Ready To Stare’s Fall Collection lookbook sink in for a bit….

When I opened my email, downloaded the lookbook, and “thumbed” through the pages, all could say was Doooooooooope!!!

The detail behind this obviously well thought out collection was evident. Setting trends, standing out and PROUDLY being yourself is what, Alysse, the designer exudes while offering her rendition of the 90’s at the same price point for us S-4x Divas.

Pairing real size models in the same looks was genius. How many times have you looked at the “model” in magazines and online in an outfit you couldn’t live without, but you passed because you couldn’t imagine how it would look on you?

The lookbook begins with the “Anti-Trend” watch that is so ON trend for fall…Stand Out!

Followed by “They All Wore It Well”, you’ll KNOW how YOU will look in THAT dress!!! Stand Out!

The infamous “Body Chain” made the collection screaming, YOU can wear a body chain, YOU can wear a body chain and yes YOU can wear a body chain!! Stand Out!!

The 90’s couple T’s are so farfetched and hilarious but they work…who would’ve “thunk”…those were some of the best couples that people tend to overlook but remember! Stand Out!

There’s isn’t a shortage of colors, fun T-shirts, printed skirts & dresses, Peggy Bundy skirts, and stare worthy jewelry in this collection. Stand Out!

What’s your definition of Standing Out? Are you ready for them to Stare? Does a 90’s kind of world sound exciting?

The collection features more than 60 new items including handmade jewelry, body chains and apparel. All clothing is available in sizes S-4X and body chains are available in sizes S-3X. Prices range from $5 for a kitschy googly eye ring to $89 for a luxe velvet bubble skirt. So as long as you’ve got the confidence, there’s something for every size and budget.
The collection officially goes on sale TODAY Friday 8/22/14.
The collection is sold here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/ReadyToStare

Ken Rebel x Hallelujah x 01|27|13 [VID]

reb·el
noun
1. A person who rises in opposition or armed resistance against an established government or ruler.
1. Rise in opposition or armed resistance to an established government or ruler.
A rebel is a person who stands up for their own personal opinions despite what anyone else says. A true rebel stands up for what they believe is right, not against what’s right. It’s being an individual and refusing to follow a crowd that forces you to think the same way they do even if it means becoming an outcast to society. True rebels know who they are and do not compromise their individuality or personal opinion for anyone. They’re straightforward and honest and they tell it like it is.
Ken Rebel, the self proclaimed walking contradiction; has single handedly created his own movement thru his Tumblr. His style brought ’em, his charisma kept ’em and his music captured ’em.
With his exhilarating energy and lyrical finesse Ken Rebel is ready to take a much more aggressive approach in the New Year. On the 10th [of Januaray] he hit the ground running, when he released a track featuring NYC native Smoke DZA & Jedi-P, this week he is releasing a teaser of his first visual of 2014.

[The release for an] unheard track called ‘hallelujah’ is nothing short of artistic and cutting-edge, which The Rebel is known for. It is a captivating, theatrical, and intense experience that you do not want to miss!

The set release date for the music video is January 27th, 2014 with VICE.

sixties fashion 2013

Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs, Dolce & Gabbana, and Moschino are just a few of the many designers who channeled the swingin’ sixties in their Spring/Summer 2013 collections.

This is a trend we here are Julep are especially excited about. All summer long we will be playing dress up while channeling our inner Twiggy with colorful checkers, black and white stripes, low heeled shoes, retro floral prints, head scarves, and anything else that is somewhat reminiscent of the sixties. Not to mention, the options for fun 60′s inspired nail art is endless!

What do you guys think about this sixties revival? Will you be partaking in this fun summer trend?
